What is the MSVNfL Scholarship Program?

The Early Childhood Education Grant, also often referred to as the Scholarship Program, is one of many programs offered by the Moorpark/Simi Valley Neighborhood for Leaning (MSVNfL) at First 5. The goal of the MSVNfL Scholarship Program is to provide children between the ages of 0 and 5, access to childcare in the Moorpark and Simi Valley area.

How do I know if my child is eligible for this program?

Below is a list of Eligibility and Limitation requirements for the MSVNfL Preschool/Infant Scholarship Program.

Eligibility

Parents must be a Moorpark OR Simi Valley resident. (If you work in the Moorpark or Simi Valley area, but do not live in Moorpark or Simi Valley, you are not eligible for this program.)
Eligible children must be between the ages of 0-5 years.
Parents must submit an application with the following information included:

  • Copies of 2 months pay stubs OR a letter from employer indicating annual gross income on letterhead.
  • Recent utility bill
  • Child's Birth Certificate
  • Child's Immunization Record
  • If you are applying for a child with Special or Alternative Needs, documentation is required (i.e. a doctors note, referral, IEP)
